Pain and Other Things is a multimedia installation comprising a series of three videos (Pain and Other Things), a series of photographs (Matières peaux, Matières mémoires), a series of wood sculptures (Le cri) and a text (published article). It all started with an emotional shock that led to a chronic illness accompanied by constant pain. I find myself in a position of solitude imposed by my aching body. Unable to move for several months, I create in isolation, from my balcony, my only view of the outside world. Pain and Other Things is an attempt to think visually about pain and the memory of the body.

The three-part video series attempts to address the issue of chronic pain in the artistic creation process.

The photographic series brings together several textures and visual media in each image, revealing the photographic material as a body.

The sculpted series (Le cri/The shout) is made from driftwood collected on the beaches of Marseille. This wood has traveled miles and holds within its very material a story that echoes that of Pain and Other Things.
